Colorful Romantic Spring Wedding at La Arboleda on the Central Coast

Love bloomed extra bright this day for my two dear friends, Jeff & Lauren, and their sweet daughter.

Jeff and Lauren are extra special to me. Over the past few years our daughters have attended school together and we see each other several times a week for carpools, dance lessons, and sleepovers. From our first planning meeting, it was clear that they intended to have a wedding that celebrated their commitment to one another and to the values of their family.

Jeff and Lauren married legally earlier in 2022 at an intimate ceremony photographed by Kiel Rucker of Heads & Heart Photography and (lucky us!) under the blooming purple magnolia tree at the Santa Barbara Courthouse Sunken Gardens. Their closest friends and family (fur babes included) joined them on the steps under the gorgeous flower-filled-tree to share their heartfelt vows with each other and their daughter. They then had a mini-parade down to Black Sheep, one of their favorite local dining spots for dinner with their guests.

In May, we threw the big party to follow at La Arboleda, including a second ceremony with more of their loved ones sharing the special moment including heartfelt words Jeff shared with their daughter. Delicious food by Omni Catering and sounds by Electric Entertainment carried the party well into the evening. Flowers were a huge priority for Lauren-an incredible green thumb, and the ceremony arch, her bouquet and table centerpieces by Blue Blossom blew everyone away with pops of vibrant colors that were exactly what we’d envisioned.

The family style meal was served by Omni and was fresh and full of flavor and for dessert, always a favorite, the DIY Gourmet S’mores station provided fun for guests of all ages (let’s be real, mostly the adults) and the couple’s special choreographed first dance together ended with them bringing their little one onto the dance floor to celebrate together. It is so special to see all of our client’s dreams come to life, but when our clients are also friends, it’s a pinch-me-moment for sure.
