She Comes in Colors Everywhere…Design inspiration at the Dos Pueblos Orchid Greenhouse

When event designers get to step out of the box and play, magic happens and The Jam Event, hosted by Wild Heart Events was a pre-Covid annual event that set the stage for planners, designers, and wedding industry professionals to cut loose, in more ways than one.

Part design showcase, part huge celebration for event professionals to celebrate a little down-time between seasons, the Dos Pueblos Orchid Greenhouse in Santa Barbara hosted hundreds of creatives looking to inspire and be inspired.

The event each year has a theme and the designs all are each team’s interpretation of how to bring that to life, 2020 was Rainbow! My go-to inspiration for many of my designs is music, so the Rolling Stones song, “She’s a Rainbow” was the spark for our creative process for this event. We teamed up with amazing vendors, Theoni Collection, Brown & Co. Designs, Dulceblomma, Otis & Pearl, Scout Rentals, Bella Vista Designs and Coyote Crystals and had a full table and lounge area. The Jam is one of the most amazing opportunities for creatives to collaborate

Our table design focused on using lots of glass and white to keep things somewhat minimal and let the spectacular floral arrangement shine from below. That’s right, the “centerpiece” was created for under the table so a different view from above or straight on was a different way of thinking through what’s possible.

The whole table was framed and a rainbow yarn installation gave us a unique backdrop mimicking guitar strings and of course inspired by our song. Details were a little hippie and a little glam with lots of shimmering crystals, gold details, and even lights from above designed to create a “prism” reflections-like a rainbow.

The lounge setup with lots of soft textures like velvet pillows and shag blankets was a cozy spot for our bride and groom to cuddle up or for friends to share a drink with while they waited for their turn with Work of Heart Glitter Bar & Face/Body paint!
