Third Time’s the Charm for Carly & Stuart at Dos Pueblos Orchid Greenhouse

Our team started planning with Carly and Stuart in March of 2019 and when Covid-19 reared its ugly head making their May 2020 wedding unattainable, the couple made the difficult decision to postpone their wedding-unfortunately, more than once.

But that didn’t stop them from making the most of the wait. After a move from CA to Seattle, the couple was able to re-direct from wedding planning and take some huge steps in settling in their new home and focusing on their careers.

When a second date had to also be postponed, we knew that third time HAD to be the charm for them. In July 2022, Carly and Stu finally celebrated their marriage with an unforgettable wedding with all their family and friends able to join and celebrate.

The thing about Carly and Stu that was beautiful to see, is that even across almost 3 years of planning, almost all of their original decisions stayed constant and made an appearance on their day. Stu’s mom created all the custom graphics, including a sketch of the greenhouse for their Save-the-Dates and invitation suite and the only thing that changed was the date!

Their colors stayed consistent and we were even able to incorporate some fun new inventory from Party Pleasers Event Rentals, to give their overall design a little freshen up from what we’d started in 2020. The end speaks for itself IMO.

Floral design by Bright Floral made an initial impression at the ceremony bluffs, with gorgeous potted arrangements at the back of the aisle and mirrored with some large-scale pieces that framed the couple, not detracting from the stunning coastal views that served as their backdrop.

Bright’s flower magic extended into the main greenhouse with a combination of traditional style centerpiece arrangements and bud vases with single stem orchids as a nod to the venue and detail focused design.

We created a fun display for the couple’s custom designed bandanas that would play double-duty for guests to find their seats for dinner as well as a take-home thank-you gift.

Much more of the design we curated for Carly and Stu had a comfortable feel, using many elements and sourcing some pieces that they even have in their own home like the sofa we used in their lounge and the types of glass pendants we incorporated into the dance floor ceiling installation.

As you can see from the photos captured by their photographer, Jodee Debes, the day was all about fun and a casual elegance that Carly and Stu effortlessly exude. Their choreographed first dance to Chris Stapleton’s Millionaire was a show-stopper, that DIP THOUGH! The Lucky Devils Band hit all the right notes, creating the perfect party atmosphere-pumping up the crowd and keeping the dance floor packed all night.

It was bittersweet to see Carly and Stu’s wedding day finally arrive, we’d spent so much time working together and getting to know each other, and our team truly felt a little missing piece after such a long time. But we are beyond happy for these newlyweds who are FINALLY married and we are so thankful to have been a part of their story.
